Reader's Corner

The School library is air-conditioned and well-equipped with books of all genres. A student can access the library with his/her library card and borrow books weekly.
Special library visits are arranged as a part of their Curriculum. Reading skills are enhanced by additional library activities.
Under the able guidance of our Principal mam, class libraries are formed and substitution hours are widely used for reading books.
Book reviews are written by Students as a part of Encouraging their reading talent.

Exhibitions and Projects are conducted to give hands-on training and food for the young learners' mind.
The recent Project titled 'Globe Trot 2025' was a grand success. The students of each class had taken up the famous countries across the world and had set up their Projects related to the life style, food, historical impacts, transition and the like. Live food courts & cultural Performances were added as 'food for the Cap'.

Vigorous training is provided to students to participate in not only Inter-House Competitions but to shape & mould them in various Inter-School Competitions too.
The Debate Club Classes are conducted weekly for students of Grades VI - XII. They are trained meticulously in elocution, Public speaking, debating, MUNs & Quizzes.
Our Students Have Been Participating in Various Inter-School Competitions Throughout the Year & Have Been Bringing Laurels in the Field of English. A Few to Mention Highlight Are:
- Runner Up Title Won at "The Verdict" - Debate Competition Conducted by Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Annanagar in Which 32 City Schools Had Participated.
- Winners of the Quiz Competition 'Amador Literacia' Conducted by SBOA Matriculation Hr. Sec. School.
- Secured Laurels & Verbal Mentions in the Loyola MUN & Genesis MUN.
- Secured 3rd Place in the Quiz Competition Conducted at Coimbatore (Pl. Add Details).
Students are well-trained to proper conduct assembly programmes & perform MC during stage events.
Language games are played to Enhance the English language skills in a play-way method.
Readers club, Debate club, Dramatics club, Quiz clubs function every week as a part of the students' curriculum.
Spell-bee & Olympiad Examinations are conducted to enhance the grammatical & Spelling skills.
Know your English, introducing new vocab structure & its usage is practised as an everyday assembly activity.

Nature walks are organised for the students to learn about the importance of nature.
Field trips & visits to Post office, Super market & vegetable market is organised to allow the students to explore the Environment.
Grand Parents day is celebrated to Encourage the grandparents. Games are conducted for them & children conduct skits & dance shows to Entertain the grandparents.
In connection with Children's Day, various Inter-SBOA Schools were invited to Participate in numerous competitions like colouring, storytelling, Dance, Fancy-dress & Prizes were distributed.

Colour days activity is organised to identify & learn about the different colours.
Festival celebrations (Diwali/Pongal/Ramzan/Christmas) & the like to learn the heritage & culture of our diversity.
Cook with Dad - an innovative Cookery contest for encouraging father child rapport.
Partner with Mom & me - a pageant Show & Vibrant dance shows for Parents & children are conducted to encourage active support of the parents.

Students regularly participate in outreach programs like 'THUGILEEGAI' to support underprivileged communities, demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility and community engagement.
Students actively managed the preparation by distributing pamphlets beforehand to inform the local area about the drive.
The distribution team, which included students from the Interact Club, Scouts and Guides, and other volunteers, executed the program efficiently and were able to close the event before the scheduled ending time.
The initiative helped students profoundly understand the value of giving back to society, experiencing firsthand the positive impact of their efforts.
Students observed and appreciated the recipients' happiness and heartfelt gratitude, reinforcing the importance of kindness and empathy in their regular interactions.

Under the guidance of Principal Mrs. Sreekala Karunakaran, the Interact Club conducted the clothes donation drive “THUGILEEGAI” on 16th October 2025 to support underprivileged communities. Pamphlets were distributed beforehand to inform the local residents.

A team of 25 students, along with the Principal and six teachers, distributed clothes at the Greater Chennai Ward Office, where Shri K. V. Thilagar, Councillor of Ward 92, inaugurated the event.

The drive spread warmth and social responsibility among students, and the recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude. The event was a meaningful and successful initiative.
